Ana (J.D. equivalent) currently serves as a consultant for the Global Health Ethics & Governance Unit at WHO, where she contributes to the protocol review process of the WHO Ethics Review Committee and supports activities related to the engagement of technical units on ethics review, including advising technical teams and developing training and support materials.
She is an assistant professor in the Bioethics Program of FLACSO, Argentina and the Bioethics Program of the Caribbean Research Ethics master’s degree Program of the University of Clarkson, USA.
She is a member of the Ethics Review Board of Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors without Borders) and serves on the Steering Committee of the Global Forum on Bioethics in Research. In Argentina, she is the Chair of the Research Ethics Committee (REC) of the Ministry of Health and a member of the REC of the Dr. Ramos Mejia General Hospital. From 2016 to 2023, she was responsible for the Research Ethics Program of the Directorate of Health Research at the Ministry of Health in Argentina. She has also worked as a consultant for the Regional Program on Bioethics at the Pan American Health Organization (WHO’s Office for America) to develop guidance and strengthen research ethics systems in Latin America during the COVID-19 pandemic.
