Trained in Philosophy, Bioethics methods, and Medical Jurisprudence, Dr Voo Teck Chuan is Research Assistant Professor at the Centre for Biomedical Ethics, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. He researches on ethical issues in healthcare, health research, and infectious disease emergencies, and has contributed to policy and guidance in these areas in Singapore and internationally, particularly for the World Health Organization. Teck Chuan is on the editorial board of the journals, the Asian Bioethics Review and Public Health Ethics; and two Springer book series, "Philosophy and Medicine" and "Public Health and Health Policy Ethics". He is an elected member of the Board of Directors for the International Association of Bioethics, and sits on various ethics committees in Singapore, including the Singapore Bioethics Advisory Committee and National Medical Ethics Committee. Teck Chuan co-leads the Southeast Asian Bioethics Network, a Wellcome-funded initiative to build a vibrant, inclusive, and collaborative bioethics community in the region. He has been a steering committee member of the Global Forum on Bioethics in Research since 2016.
