Effie Mphande is a prominent Journalist with 20 years of work experience. She has covered both local and international high profile assignments including; the World Health Assembly, World Nutrition Summit, Sixty-fifth session of the World Health Organisation Regional Committee for Africa, World Antimicrobial Awareness Week, African Regional Lessons Learned Workshop for the implementation of Antimicrobial Resistance National Action Plans, Smart Partnership International Dialogue, G77 + China Extra ordinary Summit, SADC Heads of State and Government Summits and general elections. Since 2004, she has been working with the Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation. Effie has played a crucial role in public health reporting which has earned her numerous awards including: best Journalist awards in Health, Business, Agriculture and Environmental reporting. She has moderated a high level Panel Discussion during the 2021 World Antimicrobial awareness week for AU, OIE, WHO, FAO and UNEP representatives and ministers on human, animal and environmental health. Effie has also helped with the training of sixty Journalists in Health reporting organized by Smile Train in February and April, 2022. She possesses a Master of Public Health, Health Promotion and Education, Master of Science in Peace, Leadership and Conflict Resolution, Bachelor of Arts in Communication Science, Diploma in Journalism, Public Relations and Advertising and Certificate in Qualitative Research Methods for Global Public Health.
