Ramón Ponce is a PhD student working on ageism and wrongful discrimination. He holds a BA in Philosophy (PUCP) and an MA in Applied Ethics (Universiteit Utrecht). His general interest is in applied philosophy, mostly in issues that lay at the intersection between ethical theory and policy concerns. He is a co-researcher in a project regarding the impact of the CRPD on the conduct of research involving people with cognitive and intellectual disabilities in Latin America (GFBR fellowship). He is currently a member of the Research Ethics Committee of PRISMA Association in Lima. He has served as a consultant for the Bioethics Committee, the Ethics Committee for Research Involving Human Subjects and Animals, and the Office of Academic Affairs at PUCP. On policy and institutional reform matters, he has been a consultant for the Andean Unit for the Promotion of Democracy of the Government of Canada, the Peruvian Truth and Reconciliation Commission, and the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (International IDEA).
