Professor and expert in nutrition and food systems at the University of Abomey-Calavi in Benin, I am the head of research programmes office and member of the Scientific Council.
As academic and in-service capacity building experience, I was successively at the position of FAO consultant and IFAD nutrition consultant for capacity development in nutrition and food systems from 2018-2022; and facilitator of the WHO Operational Research Division capacity strengthening for the West African Regional Network for TB control programme (WARN-TB) since 2020.
I got over ten years of experience in nutrition and food security strategy design, nutrition and food systems projects and programmes assessment and evaluation; food-based interventions on local food resources value chain tackling nutrient deficiencies; food ethnography focused on traditional foods, including food consumption and consumer’s surveys, socio-cultural behaviors; Planning, development and implementation of agriculture / food systems- nutrition projects. My recent research activities include various projects such as SAFEVEG, safe locally-produced vegetables for west Africa’s consumers (2022 – 2025) with the World vegetable center; Improved Orange Fleshed Sweet Potato Value Chain for food and nutrition security in Benin, Niger and Nigeria, with the African Union (2018 – 2021); Lucky Iron Fish for anemia reduction among women in Benin with Care International – Benin/Togo (2020 – 2022); INSIDER, Integrated Strategies for micronutrient Deficiency Reduction, with the European Union (2019 – 2021); - ACMOF and FortiMoringa for promoting the use of Moringa oleifera leaves for a better maternal and early childhood nutrition in Benin, with The Netherlands Applied Research Fund (2017 – 2019 and 2021-2023)
