My name is Qosay Al-Balas, a Jordanian citizen. I have finished my Bachelor degree in pharmacy in the year 2000 from Jordan University of Science & Technology (JUST) and a master degree in 2004 in phytochemistry from the same institution. In 2008 I have finished my PhD in pharmaceutical sciences from Strathclyde University, UK. Since then, I have appointed at JUST and I have granted in 2019 a full professor position. At 2014 I was appointed as chairman of "Pharmaceutical Research Center" at King Abdulla University Hospital (KAUH) in Jordan. One of my main responsibilities is to ensure that clinical trials at this center are performed according to the international standards of human rights and protection of human subjects.

This position which continues until 2016 has urged me to expand my capabilities in this field. Luckily, I managed to get a scholarship from "Western Institutional Review Board" (WIRB)/ USA to get a training for two months at their center in Seattle, Washington. In 2016 I have managed to secure a one year fellowship in the first batch of Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) program that is directed to MENA region sponsored from NIH/ University of San Diego California. In 2019 I have pursued a master degree in "Global Bioethics" program that is offered by Anahuac University/ Mexico and I have graduated in 2021. Within this time I have also completed my study in the field of "Islamic Studies" at Yarmouk University/ Jordan to expand my knowledge and to have more experience in Islamic Bioethics. I have appointed as an external consultant of the newly form IRB committee at Yarmouk University and I have many publications in the field of Bioethics and Islamic Bioethics.
