Dr G E Khumalo is a public health researcher in the Health Research & Knowledge Management (HRKM) Unit based at the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Health (KZN-DoH), South Africa, where she conducts public health related research and as well as reviews incoming research studies which include clinical trials for approval by Provincial Health Research & Ethics Committee (PHREC). She is also a secretariat for the uMgungundlovu Health Ethics Review Board (UHERB) and for the PHREC. She has qualifications in Biomedical Technology, Project Management and Public Health. She has interest in community engagement research studies which drove her into conducting her Doctorate degree around the Human Immunodeficiency (HIV) services that are delivered to the KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) communities by the community health workers. Additionally, she is part of the leading team in the HRKM Unit that sets research priorities every five years in the KZN province as mandated by the National Health Act No. of 61of 2003. She is also a reviewer for a couple of peer reviewed journals which include BMC.
