Prof. Dr. Harun-Ar-Rashid MD, MSc, MPH, PhD, FRCP Edin, MBA is a Professor of Public Health. He worked as Professor & Head of the Department of Public Health at Daffodil International University, Bangladesh and as Professor of Public Health & Research Management at State University of Bangladesh. He earlier served as Director of Bangladesh Medical Research Council for 18 years. Dr. Rashid has got substantial trainings in epidemiology, research management and ethics from renowned International Institutions, like Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC), Management Sciences for Health (MSH), Emory University and Harvard University. Dr. Rashid has served as Member in 45 national and international research related committees and attended around 100 international conferences. He served as the Member of National Research Ethics Committee for around 18 years. He has experiences of working with several international organizations and served in the South-East Asia Advisory Committee for Health Research of WHO as Member for around 19 years. He conducted considerable number of research studies and published papers in national and international reputed journals. He organized more than 300 trainings on research methods and ethics. For contribution in Health Science Dr. Rashid received “Gold Medal” of Bangladesh Academy of Sciences in 2004, awarded by the Hon’ble President of Peoples Republic of Bangladesh.
