Florencia Luna

Director Bioethics Program - FLACSO-CONICET

Superior Researcher at CONICET (National Scientific and Technological Research Council), Argentina. Director of the Program of bioethics at FLACSO (Latin American University of Social Sciences) President of the International Association of Bioethics (IAB) (2003-2005). She is Temporary Advisor of the World Health Organization (WHO). She advised the Scientific Advisory Committee (STAC) of TDR (Tropical Disease Research) at WHO 2013-2017. Since 2014 she is an External Member of the Scientific Committee of Brocher Foundation (Switzerland). She is PI (principal investigator) of a research training grant of the Fogarty International Center, NIH (National Institutes of Health- (US)) to train persons in ethics and research (2016-2021) and was Co PI with Ruth Macklin (2001-2016). She has published more than 80 articles in peered reviewed national and international journals. Author of several books, including Bioethics and Vulnerability: A Latin American View (RODOPY, Amsterdam, 2006).
