Leah Pierson is a medical student at Harvard Medical School. She is interested in public health ethics, and recently completed her PhD at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, where her dissertation focused on ethical issues in global health priority setting. Before starting her MD-PhD, she earned a degree in Human Rights from Brown University and completed a pre-doctoral fellowship in the NIH Department of Bioethics. As a PhD student, she received fellowships from the Edmond & Lily Safra Center for Ethics, Forethought Foundation for Global Priorities Research, and Petrie-Flom Center for Health Law Policy, Biotechnology, and Bioethics. She also co-hosts (with Sophie Gibert) a podcast, Bio(un)ethical, where she interviews bioethicists and questions existing norms in medicine, science, and public health.
