Emilie Alirol

Emilie has over 15 years’ experience in developing new treatments and diagnostics for neglected and under-served populations. She started her career as a clinical research scientist with the clinical trial unit of Geneva University Hospitals, where she focused on Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) and HIV research.
She then held various positions in not-for-profit entities, working on different infectious diseases, including in Anti-Microbial Resistance (AMR).
Emilie also has a keen interest for research integrity and bioethics. She is a former member of the Geneva University Hospital Ethics Committee and a former vice chair of the WHO Ethics Review Committee. She is a fellow of the Global Forum for Research Ethics and Integrity (GRFEI), and a lecturer at Geneva University.
Emilie holds a PhD in Biology from the University of Geneva and a Masters in Epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM).
